Enrollment is voluntary for all medical laboratory technicians and assistants practising in Ontario. Acceptance to the Voluntary Roster entitles one to use the designation “Registered Medical Laboratory Technician.”

By applying for acceptance to the Voluntary Roster, applicants agree to meet the obligations outlined in the Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice for Registered Medical Laboratory Technicians, which are available at www.cmlto.com. Noncompliance with these obligations results in removal from the Voluntary Roster. The CMLTO reserves the right to amend the Voluntary Roster program in the future.

There are six Voluntary Roster criteria that are assessed during the application process. Applicants are asked to declare which one of the first three criteria they are applying under. Applicants will also be required to address the last three criteria in their application.
