Funded by Global Affairs Canada (GAC), the Scholarships and Educational Exchanges for Development – Phase 2 (SEED-2) program supports students from Member States of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), Pacific Island Countries and Mongolia to conduct short-term study or research in Canada.

UVic is now accepting SEED-2 applications for the 2026-2027 academic year. For details about the SEED-2 award, eligibility, and application process, refer to UVic's SEED-2 Scholarship Guidelines.

To apply, complete this form and upload all required supporting documentation. The UVic application deadline is Tuesday, March 10, 2026 at 12:00pm PT.

I understand that this application is for the Scholarships and Educational Exchanges for Development – Phase 2 (SEED-2) program and confirm that this application submission is for a citizen from an eligible country.

I understand that an eligible applicant must be enrolled full-time at a post-secondary institution in a SEED-2 country/territory to be considered for this scholarship.

I understand that an eligible applicant must be paying tuition fees to the home institution at the time of application and for the full duration of the programming in Canada, if awarded a SEED-2 scholarship.

I understand that selected candidates may arrive as early as August 1, 2026 and no later than February 1, 2027, and that failure to arrive during this time may result in the cancellation of the scholarship, if awarded.

I understand that this SEED-2 scholarship application does not guarantee admission to UVic for a study exchange or research program.

I understand that scholarship recipients cannot hold or have a pending application for Canadian citizenship or permanent residency.

I understand that scholarship recipients cannot already hold another grant or source of funding from Global Affairs Canada (GAC), through its legal name, the Department of Foreign Affairs, Trade and Development (DFATD), or from a Canadian federal granting agency (e.g. Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC), Social - -Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC) or Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR). All additional sources of funding must be declared.

I understand that scholarship recipients cannot be already enrolled in a degree, diploma or certificate program at a Canadian post-secondary institution.

I understand that scholarship recipients cannot already receive a scholarship under the first phase of the program: the Canada-ASEAN Scholarships and Educational Exchanges for Development (SEED).
