At the University of Saskatchewan, publication of research is recognized at many levels and it is important that graduate students who are often the main drivers of original research be recognized for their contributions to the scientific community.
Number of awards: Minimum of 1 per year
Value of award: Minimum of $2000
Deadline for submission: May 30, at 11:59pm
Eligibility:
To be considered for this Award, applicants must be:
1. Enrolled in a recognized graduate program with the University of Saskatchewan’s College of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies at the time the award is granted;
2. A graduate student in good standing of a department within the WCVM, and
3. Supervised or co-supervised by a member of the WCVM faculty (not an adjunct member); and
4. First author on an original research article published in a peer-reviewed journal. In the case of co-first authors ( where both authors are graduate students that meet eligibility), the prize will be divided equally between the applicants.
5. Have a research article that has been accepted for publication or published during the past 12 months;
The following are not eligible:
a. Review articles - except for systematic reviews, which are eligible
b. Non peer-reviewed articles
c. Submitted or In Revision manuscripts
Only one application may be submitted per student. Previous winners are eligible to reapply.
