Simon Fraser University is advancing the development of a five-year, integrated Internationalization and Global Engagement Strategy to strengthen how we position ourselves globally, contribute to shared challenges, and learn through meaningful international collaboration.

Internationalization and global engagement at SFU encompasses our research, teaching, partnerships, and student experiences. It reflects a commitment to approaches that are reciprocal, responsible, and future-oriented—grounded in our institutional values and responsive to the evolving global context.

We invite you to participate in a short consultation survey that will help:
  • Identify institutional priorities and areas of opportunity
  • Align global engagement with SFU’s academic and research strengths
  • Support British Columbia and Canada’s broader competitiveness agenda
  • Inform the infrastructure, systems, and support required to advance this work effectively
This strategy will build on the significant international activity already underway across SFU and draw from previous consultations, as well as existing institutional plans and commitments, including What’s Next: The SFU Strategy, Academic Plan (2025–2030), Strategic Research Plan (2023–2028), Equity Compass (2023-2028) and Indigenous Commitments, and Faculty and Unit Plans.
