OVERVIEW
Survey purpose
Primary care clinics/centres require administration and management to provide the best possible care. Yet, little is documented about how Canadian primary care clinics/centres are managed. The purpose of this survey is to identify and map approaches to primary care administration and management and to describe best practices. This study is being conducted in 3 provinces: British Columbia, Ontario, and Nova Scotia. Results from this research will generate important ideas on how to support improved primary care administration and management.
Eligibility
To be eligible, your primary care clinic/centre must be in British Columbia, Ontario, or Nova Scotia. Only one survey response per clinic/centre is requested. For the purposes of this survey, the terms ‘clinic/centre’ refer to all physical locations within the same organization.
To complete the survey, you must be a leader (e.g., director, manager), staff member, or clinician who holds responsibility for all or most of the clinic/centre’s administration and management activities. The survey asks details about management of clinic/centre’s infrastructure, staff, information/technology, and finance.
All primary care clinics/centres are eligible, including but not limited to solo and group practices, nurse-practitioner practices, and Community Health Centres.
Survey completion
The survey includes multiple-choice and open-ended questions covering various aspects of the administration and management of your primary care clinic/centre. It should take you roughly 15–20 minutes to complete. The opening section includes screening questions to determine if you are eligible to complete the rest of the survey.
Prior to submission, you may exit the survey at any time, and your information will be deleted and will not be used in the analysis.
You do not have to identify yourself to complete the survey. However, at the end of the survey, you will have the option to share your email address to be entered in a random draw to win a 256 GB iPad (approximate value $650). You will also be asked if you are willing to be contacted for a future interview.
