The Society for Undergraduate Research Experience (SURE) is hosting a Speed Networking event to help make the match. Faculty, bring your research pitches and undergraduates bring your CVs and enthusiasm, we’ll bring the snacks. Sign-up here for a great opportunity to meet your next collaborator.
Faculty will give a 30-60 second elevator pitch about their research area to a small group of students (3-5). The faculty members will then have an opportunity to describe what undergraduate research opportunities they are looking to fill, the skills they’re looking for and the timelines they have. Students will engage with faculty to answer questions, discuss their qualifications, interests, and experience. At the 6-minute mark we will ring a bell indicating the student groups move to the next table to hear from the next faculty member.
Once students have had a chance to connect with each of the faculty there will be time for informal networking and refreshments where students can continue conversations about next steps with faculty and facilitators.
